| Syracuse is the top team in the country and leads a total of five Big East teams in this week's AP Top 25 poll, including Georgetown at #10, Connecticut (#13), Marquette (#21), and Louisville (#23). One Big East team dropped out of the poll this week. Seton Hall had been ranked #24.
Syracuse stays put at #1 following a week that began with a win at Villanova, 79-66. After that came another win at home against Providence, 78-55.
Georgetown moves up one position after a win against St. John's, 69-49 and a loss to Cincinnati, 68-64. Connecticut moves up four spots after wins against Notre Dame, 67-53 and West Virginia, 64-57. Marquette moves up four places after wins against Pittsburgh, 62-57 and St. John's, 83-64. Louisville moves down nine spots after a win against DePaul, 76-59 and a loss to Providence, 90-59. Illinois enters the Top 25 at #22 with an upset win at home over then-5th ranked Ohio State, 79-74. Saint Mary's also enters the Top 25 at #24. Gonzaga falls out of the Top 25 this week with an upset loss at Saint Mary's, 83-62 and a win at Loyola Marymount, 62-58.
