| Four Big East teams show up in this week's AP Top 25 poll. They are Syracuse at #3, Georgetown (#9), Marquette (#17), and Connecticut (#24). One Big East team fell out of the poll this week. Louisville was ranked #23.
Syracuse moves down two spots in the poll following a week that began with a win at home over Pittsburgh, 71-63. After that came an upset loss at Notre Dame, 67-58.
Georgetown moves up one position after wins against Rutgers, 52-50 and DePaul, 83-75. Marquette moves up four spots after wins against Providence, 79-72 and then-14th ranked Louisville, 74-63. Connecticut moves down 11 places after consecutive losses to Tennessee, 60-57 and Cincinnati, 70-67. Louisville drops out of the poll after a win against Pittsburgh, 73-62 and a loss to then-25th ranked Marquette.
Kentucky takes back the number one ranking following a week in which they first got a victory at home against Arkansas, 86-63. After that came another win at home against Alabama, 77-71. Florida State breaks into the Top 25 at #23 with a win at home over Maryland, 84-70 and an upset win at then-4th ranked Duke, 76-73. Wisconsin also enters the Top 25 at #25. Illinois falls out of the rankings this week with an upset loss at Penn State, 54-52 and an upset loss at home to Wisconsin, 67-63.
