With a solid performance that included going up against the #5 team in the nation, Khalif Wyatt, a 6-4 junior from Temple, has been selected StatSheet NCAA Player of the Week. St. John's's D`Angelo Harrison is the StatSheet NCAA Freshman of the Week and Georgia Tech's Glen Rice Jr is StatSheet's NCAA 6th Man of the Week. Wyatt put up a strong 25 points per game, 4 three pointers per game, and 3.5 steals per game in a victory against 5th ranked Duke and a loss to Dayton.
Wyatt led all scoring for the Owls with 22 points and added 5 steals in a close 78-73 win against Duke. He then led the team in scoring (28) and added an additional 4 rebounds in an 87-77 loss to Dayton.
This is the first time this season that Khalif Wyatt has been named StatSheet NCAA Player of the Week. The runner-up this week is senior Draymond Green from Michigan State. Honorable mention goes to junior Justin Hamilton from LSU.
StatSheet NCAA Freshman of the Week: St. John's's D`Angelo Harrison
D`Angelo Harrison played an average of 39 minutes starting both games for the Red Storm. In a 73-58 loss to Louisville, Harrison led scoring and rebounding with 24 and 8, respectively. Against Cincinnati, in a tight 57-55 win, he led scoring with 18 points and also had 7 rebounds.
This marks the first time this season that Harrison has won the StatSheet NCAA Freshman of the Week. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope from Georgia gets runner-up. Honorable mention goes to Trey Burke from Michigan.
StatSheet NCAA 6th Man of the Week: Georgia Tech's Glen Rice Jr
Junior Glen Rice Jr averaged 27 minutes over two games for the Yellow Jackets. In a 73-48 loss to Alabama, Rice Jr chalked up 5 points and 4 rebounds. Then in an 81-74 loss to Duke, he led all scoring and rebounding with 28 and 8.
This is the first time this season Rice Jr has won the StatSheet NCAA 6th Man of the Week award. Jawanza Poland, a junior guard from South Florida, is runner-up. Blake Nash, a sophomore guard from South Florida, wins honorable mention.
