Villanova Beats La Salle in Overtime, 76-69

Villanova put another one in the win column. On November 15th at home, the Wildcats clipped the Explorers, 76-69, in overtime.

The Wildcats played a decent game, although the final score was a little closer than expected. Last season, Villanova won 84-81. Over the last four years, the Wildcats have a record of 5-0 with a record of 3-0 at The Pavilion. Villanova has a winning record over La Salle going back to 1980, 19-10.

Villanova took this one while dominating La Salle in free throw shooting and also coming out on top in offensive rebounding.

Villanova used its advantage on the boards to generate more second-chance shots with a total of 15 offensive rebounds to their 10. Foul shooting led to an additional 34 points for the Wildcats compared to only nine points for the Explorers.

Maalik Wayns was the high scorer for the Wildcats with 22 points on 31% shooting in 37 minutes. Mouphtaou Yarou was a factor with a game-leading 14 rebounds.
